PEPB Approves New Credit Policy

LEVELIZED  BILLING

This program is a payment plan based on a 12-month average of your electric bills.  An adjustment is made to the average bill amount each month to avoid overpayment or underpayment of your account.  Instead of fluctuating bills, you can expect to pay about the same amount each month. To qualify for Levelized Billing, you must have had service at your present address for at least one year and have a $0 account balance.

BANK DRAFT

You can save postage, time and energy by using our convenient bank draft payment service. With this service, your monthly electric bill will be automatically deducted from your checking account each month. You will continue to receive your bill as a record and receipt of the bank draft amount. Signing up is easy, just bring a voided check or deposit slip (no copies please) to our office and customer service will gladly assist you.

CRITICAL REFERRAL

If you or a member of your family use an electrical life-sustaining device in your home, call and make sure we are aware of it. We will know there’s someone in your home who may need special assistance when power cannot be restored promptly. For more information call 270-365-2031

SECURITY LIGHTING PROGRAM

Lighting gives your home extra protection from theft or burglary. Security lights also allow you to spend more time outdoors. We will install and maintain a security light at any location on your property that is readily accessible to EPB’s construction and maintenance crews for a nominal monthly fee.

SPECIAL ROUTING

This program is for social security and disability customers. It will allow those customers to pay their electric bill after they get their checks without a late charge. To qualify, an applicant must be a residential customer, and the request must be for his or her primary residence. The program does not prevent a customer from receiving a delinquent notice, nor does it prevent disconnection for non-payment. It does, however, give qualified customers a due date that coincides with their checks.

ALL-ELECTRIC NEW HOMES

This program provides financial incentives to homebuilders who install high-efficiency heat pumps and extra weatherization features.

HEAT PUMPS

The heat pumps of today are much improved over those manufactured years ago. Using a changing technology, today’s heat pumps are safer, cleaner, more reliable, and more efficient, providing you with greater comfort and less energy consumption. We offer qualified applicants long-term, low interest loans, with no down payment and up to 10 years to pay for the installation of your new system. We will inspect the system to ensure it has been installed properly.

ELECTRIC WATER HEATER INCENTIVE

If you decide to convert from a gas water heater to an electric we will pay you $100.00. For replacement of a failed electric water heater or building a new home and have purchased an electric water heater we will pay you $100.00 for a (20) gallon or larger unit.

RESIDENTIAL SURGE PROTECTION

Whole home protection for equipment behind the meter is available for $3 per month.  Under the program we will install and maintain a TESCO point of entry surge protection device.  TESCO meter socket devices come with a 10 year, $50,000 warranty for both motors and electronics of equipment behind the meter.
