Meter-Based Surge Protection From Start To Finish

Power surges are sudden, unexpected increases in electrical voltage. They can be caused by storms, by fallen power lines, even by a neighbor’s appliances or nearby business. They strike the average structure more than 2,000 times per year, or 5 times a day. Although you can protect your personal computers and other pieces of household equipment with plug-in (point-of-use) surge protectors, what about your major appliances? What about your central heating/air conditioning unit, your dishwasher, your refrigerator, your washer/dryer? The major appliances within your household need surge protection as well.

TESCO’s Watt Hour Meter Base Surge Arrester provides strong and dependable protection for your expensive electronic devices and appliances. The Watt Hour Meter Base Surge Arrester is specifically designed for long lifetimes even with strong lightning activity and temporary line overvoltage conditions.

As a user of the TESCO Watt Hour Meter Base Surge Arrester, you are even protected if an electrical surge does get through. It is in this instance at TESCO warranties equipment in the home against damage from lightning and power surges that come through the electrical system into the house. This warranty covers electromechanical equipment (i.e. washers, dryers, refrigerators and other appliances motor driven or mechanical in nature) and electronic equipment (i.e. computers, televisions, stereos, microwaves and heat pumps). TESCO will replace or repair damaged electromechanical or electric equipment as a result of lightning or power surge passing through a failed TESCO surge arrester, up to $50,000 per event, for a 10-year period.
